WHO AM I?

My name is Becki Burrows and I am a creative Multimedia Producer residing in London who can present/film and edit. I have been personally sponsored by Pepsi and Vodafone to create viral content for their Social Media platforms after entering and winning competitions created and hosted by the brands online.

This website has been evolving since 2007.. when I embarked on a project (with a little bit of help from my friends) to ‘blag’ it in to twenty festivals, sneak backstage and interview some famous musicians…this also led to being shortlisted for two CH4 Talent Awards and a trip to NYC to interview Usher.

For a bit more of a background on this vlog here is a recent recording of me talking about it for BBC6 Music:

2011 has seen me embark on a personal project entitled ‘The Inspiration Series’. The aim of The Inspiration Series was/is to inspire struggling musicians and artists to use avenues not necessarily previously thought about – having so far only survived on brand interaction myself (my video camera was from Vodafone and my laptop from winning the Pepsi prize) my project has been exploring the idea ‘how far can you get with a little help from the right places’ The brands that have contributed to this project so far are as follows: Kathmandu, ESHK Hair Salon, Bench, Wahanda, Clarks Originals and Creative Recreation Shoes.

Please do back through the videos on my page – and support ohDearyme!
Vlog one for this project starts here: http://ohdearyme.com/2011/06/07/the-inspiration-series-the-asteroids-galaxy-tour-and-friends-electric/

    Hey Becky,
Just watched your festival awards coverage, and thought perhaps you might be able to help us. We’re trying to get on one or two and thought you might know some heads we could get in touch with. No worries if not. I enjoyed the reels by the way, they made me laugh.
    Cheers Si

    Hey becki
you wont remember me, but you convinced me and my good pal to go blagging. remember, blagging an orange juice and a brownie at the Big Chill?? well, thats me, and guess what. we were inspired so much that we blagged our way backstage to meet the boosh! the mighty. yup.
we have picture proof n all, and it was definately worth the blag!
    stay safe

  4. Hi Becki,

I saw your link on Creative 30 – like what you are doing here on your blog. I mastermind a band/comedy/look phenomenon (not to overstate), involving banjo, drums, pink, bluegrass and punk and I’d love to hear what you think. Check out the myspace or come and see us live at the infamous Chimp Night, up at the Hobgoblin on White Lion ST, nr Angel. Next two are Sat 27th Sep, tomorrow in fact at 8pm, and Sat 25th Oct, 8pm….last Saturday each month, see?
    Good luck with the competition!

    Found you through Headphonesex blog.

re – Isle Of White – not too excited to be honest – Prodigy peaked at Jilted Generation album, Stereophonics never peaked at all, so headliners not up to much.

Unless you refer to Bestival, in which case that’s much more my thing – Chew Lips, Big Pink, V V Brown should all be great!

I’ll look forward to your video blogs which ever you choose…
    Mike

We do a Q&A section on our blog. It’s normally reserved for artists (Little Boots, Marina & The Diamonds, We Have Band etc), but really the key thing is that the person has an interesting story to tell, so perhaps we should consider you? Would definitely earn you a few new fans. We should talk futher perhaps? My email address is therecommenderblog@gmail.com. No probs if not…

    Phone me immediately.

I just defaced your Bestival ’08 blog, but looks a bit dead.
I do everything with cameras and sound things and would like to have fun with you and film things. I shoot press and make films.
You and your crew look….well. like real people, rather than prick presenters I hate.

Hey Becki! Holy crap this page is well done, a bit more than a blog I’d say. Can’t wait to see your post on Jisan- and it was a pleasure meeting you. It’d be cool to meet up back in England, maybe go to Glasto together as I’ve never been. Also, if you have facebook, get me on it- search Hoon Young Kim. Hope you got back alright and getting on well with your recovery. I’m about to have my very overdue slumber, so speak to you soon! x

  12. Vanessa Schmidt says:

    hey friend!

When i first saw you at the kanye/lupe weekend I thought wow what a balzzzzyy girl to be shooting random people with a water gun and videoing it! Now thats my kind of girl…I have also engaged in a similar crime.

Watched some of your videos and your video on Jisan made me oh so very sad that I changed my mind last minute and didn’t go!

Lastly, Lupes band took us backstage BUT after they thought we were cheap trix we grabbed all the food we could see and made a quick getaway haha..suckas!

Hi Becky! I’m in Korea shooting a music video with Brian Lee http://www.knugu.com and wanted to see if you would like to get together and chat about the industry. I’ve made a living on DIY artists and i noticed you were a filmmaker and writer as well. I’m flying in this evening and will be in Korea for about a week. I’m set to stay in the country just outside of ChungCheon. love to meet up!

    Hi Becki,

You left a message on my linkedin profile, requesting to here my music.

Please go to the website given and have a listen, i would really appreciate your feedback/support or help.

I have a band, so gigging at festivals wont be a problem, i wont go into detail again, as you have already read my post on linkedin…Might be a bit too morbid for some people.

Thanks for getting in touch, cant wait to speak to you soon
